Kate DiCamillo responded!

In December, Savannah wrote to Kate DiCamillo to tell her how much she loved reading her books and Ms. DiCamillo wrote back!  She wrote a personalized note back to Savannah on a post card with her picture on the front and returned the book plates we printed out for her to sign with her signature.  I printed a book plate for everyone in the family, so everyone can have one for their memory.  We ALL love Kate's books and have spent many hours reading them as a family.  She has been a huge part of our family bonding time. :)

Savannah was so pleased that Ms. DiCamillo would take the time to write back.  She even returned the 5 dollars we went to cover postage!  She also wished Savannah well at our next post in China since Savannah told her that we've read her books in the States, Africa, Europe, and next would be in China!  We look forward to her future books!
