Bri's trip

Briant went on a "guys road trip" with a few officers from our embassy for some "official business" a few weeks ago.  One of them is the RSO, Regional Security Officer, so they were particularly interested in the conditions of the roads in Angola.  Briant learned a lot about Angola and what life looks like outside of Luanda, and he had a great time with these men.  They spent 4 days driving together.  Hard to believe that these men could carry on conversations for all of that time, but they apparently succeeded and Briant enjoyed getting to know them better.  One of them commented on how Briant took pictures like a "pre-pubescent girl," :) so it actually took him over an hour to show me the pics.  I know he took the pics for me because we probably won't reach most of these areas as a family, especially because of the roads and possible carsickness.  I had a hard time deciding which pic I wanted to use for our screen saver.  :) Here are about a tenth of the pics he took!
Hours outside the city he felt like he was literally in the National Geographic magazine with seeing the houses people lived in and the way they dressed--women and men shirtless and kids barely wearing anything (not pictured of course).  Life is very different in those areas because they don't have electricity!  Hard to believe that lifestyle still exists in this day and age.  I'll let Briant tell more about the areas and pictures when he has a minute to expound on them and tell more of the stories behind them.  He promises me that it will be soon.  :)
