Our Leprechaun, Seamus

For St. Patty's Day, the kids set their shoes out for our leprechaun Seamus to come and visit us (pronounced "Shay-muss").  We're fortunate to have had the same Leprechaun visit us for the past three years.  He took our coin collection the first year because he didn't like our trap that we built to try to catch him.  But he kindly returned the coins last year.  We've learned our lesson, and no longer set up traps to catch him.  So he just leaves treats, along with a little mess.  The funny thing about filling the kids' shoes with candy, is that Seamus moved Thomas' shoes to the trash can.  His shoes are so torn up and stinky that Seamus refused to fill them with the chocolates.  He just set the treats on the ground!  I didn't blame him!
Seamus used our ladder to get into all of my supply drawers to find what he wanted to leave a note.  He found my green pipe cleaners that he used to spell his name and make a clover.  He did not clean up after himself though.  He also got into the green tabasco sauce bottle, the green lime juice, the green chile flavored sunflower seeds and a green package of potato chips that he left laying around.  Then he apparently hung out and read Briant's book of Celtic poetry and played with Thomas' rubik's cube, leaving the green side up.
We love our little Leprechaun!  Thanks for visiting Seamus!  We look forward to next year!
