We were invited to join my wonderful friend Leslie and her family (Kurt, Abby and Alex) at the Marine Corps War Memorial for a patriotic performance by the Marines themselves.

We got to talk with one of the marines that was walking around. We asked him a zillion questions about his uniform and life as a marine. He was kind enough to spend time with us!
The Marine Band blessed us with beautiful renditions of patriotic music. It's amazing how our country's music can move you after living outside of the U.S.!
Then one marine played on a single horn as he stood on the memorial. We're so glad we attended the performance in support of our marines that serve us around the world!
