Thomas' 14th Birthday!

Thomas is entering his 2nd year as a teenager!  14 big ones.  He felt especially lucky because Grandpa and Grandma Becky were visiting on his birthday and could be there to celebrate with us.  Rhea really wanted to buy this amazing flower candle for Thomas, so she bought it with her own money.  It was supposed to open up and sing the happy birthday song, but it ended up just burning a big flame, so we manually tried to open it and ended up knocking it over, sending wax flying all over the table.  So the fire got blown out, but the candle continued to sing a high pitched mechanical song until we finally decided to put it outside to sit on the porch until it stopped.  Come to find out, it went on singing for another 20 minutes or so!  Glad we didn't wait around for it to finish!
Thomas requested American brownie cupcakes instead of cake.
After singing happy birthday and enjoying brownies, Thomas opened presents.  Saying thank you to Rhea for her gift, a crocheted necklace.
Thomas was excited for his animation kit.
Dad personalized the birthday card with his artistic touch that the kids love!
MAC AND CHEESE!!  Thomas asked for mac-n-cheese for his birthday, but by the time he asked, it was too close to his birthday and I didn't have time to order it and have it get here on time.  So I asked my dad and Becky if they had any or could bring any for his birthday, They of course, happily delivered.  :)
Other favorites were the Ranger's Apprentice book series and a red panda stuffed animal, his favorite animal.Driving to Akvaparks to celebrate more.Once inside, they wouldn't let us take pictures inside that actual water park, so this is the one we were able to take by the lockers. This is the hall way to the changing rooms. Above there a swimming pool.
So we paid for some pictures when we were leaving so we could have a memory of some of the fun slides we went on!  I think it's one of the best water parks we've been too as far as variety goes. They even had different kinds of sauna rooms and drink bars where you could order snacks and drinks on the water.  Cool setup.
On our way out.Poor Grandma Becky had to sit out in the car.  We didn't realize that you had to have a swimsuit on to get in.  We thought it would be like other water places where they allow parents or grandparents to watch, but it wasn't.  We said that we would still pay for her, but it wasn't possible.  So she ran to the grocery store next door and bought a book and glasses so she could read.  Grandpa left about an hour before the rest of us so he could keep Grandma company.  We're glad that at least Grandpa could come in with us!  The kids have memories of going to rec centers in Utah with Grandpa, and they always love exploring those fun places with him, so we're glad we all got to experience the park together, and for our first time too!
