Spring blossoms!

I LOVE spring every year, and between joining the foreign service in the summer and living two years in Africa I feel like I've missed spring for about three years. The springs in D.C. are famously beautiful and full of blossoms around the Tidal Basin, and I have been really looking forward to it. Our winter has been really warm, but we had a cold snap right in the middle of the pre-bud stage, so we were all sweating whether we were going to get any blossoms. We ended up losing about half of the bloom, but what we got was still beautiful:
