Every year, the Primary children in the LDS church, perform a program in Sacrament meeting. Since we got here in August, and they didn't start practicing until the end of September, we didn't have much time to prepare, but it still turned out nice. The kids sang about 5 songs, and they learned to sing most of them in Latvian, with a few verses sung in English. There were no complaints from the kids! I was so proud of them! So here they are practicing in the primary room.
Bri got called as the primary pianist, so he played all of the songs and did a beautiful, even perfect (you might say) job! He was amazing! (Side note: What a different experience playing a real piano here in Latvia compared to the electric keyboard with bad electricity in Angola. We truly have a beautiful building with running water and flushing toilets, carpet, great chairs, bathrooms, supply of hymn books, a kitchen for events with food, a gym, and an amazing chapel. Oh, and the heat and air conditioning work! We're feeling spoiled!)During a practice, the kids got to go through the songs and practice giving a portion of their talks. Marta from the branch, translated for the kids, so the kids read a sentence in English and then waited for her to translate in Latvian. Again, we're feeling spoiled here with people being able to translate for us! Cherylyn put great binders together for the kids with all of the songs in it along with the program to follow.
The piano in the chapel:
Still practicing for the real program, the week before. Cherylyn did a great job leading the music!
The primary presidency put together an amazing little party to celebrate after the actual program. We went into the wonderfully stocked kitchen (dishes, fridge, stove, etc.) and ate cake, fruits, vegetables, popcorn, etc. The cake says, "Choose the Right" in Latvian.

We're grateful to have such an organized primary presidency and for their efforts to include us here in the branch. I also appreciate that I can speak English with most of them!
