Since September, I've had the opportunity to work with the "activity day girls," now called "Primary Girl activities." I've gotten to work with Emily C. who had her two daughters Joey and Cate in the program. Emily got released in January and Wendy L. got called as her replacement which is great since her daughter Mbali is in the program now. I enjoyed my time from September through December being a leader with Rhea still in the program before moving to Young Women's. It was fun to watch her interact with the girls and she enjoyed helping me prepare and setup for each activity twice a month. She was a huge help along with Sylvia, Joey, and Leith being the older girls, to help the younger girls. We had a few rebellious spirits that liked to keep us leaders on our toes. ;) Sadly with the development of the Worldwide Pandemic Covid-19, church is canceled along with all activities. So we can't hold our monthly activities. I'm glad we had wonderful activities while we could!
Our most recent activities was making new mom gift bags for underprivileged moms that get medical care at Inova. The Relief Society helped out by donating all of the baby items for the gift bags and made blankets from the donated fleece as well. They were so helpful and we were able to make 23 bags with diapers, wipes, onesies, diaper cream, baby wash, and a blanket.

Then for our Wednesday night, the girls helped to bag everything, tie ribbons on the bags, and make cards. Thankfully we had a new girl named Addi move into the ward to help with all of the card making with her quick writing skills!
Another fun activity we had was drawing with the website arthubforkids.com. Our family had used the website when we were homeschooling in Latvia, so I shared it with the girls and Briant shared it with the Primary Boys too. The girls drew pictures that we attached to the gift bags we gave to Inova. I was impressed with their drawing skills!

For Valentine's, we wanted to heart attack the Bishop's door, along with Emily C, the previous leader.
We worked as quietly as we could, but the Bishop peaked outside and we acted like we weren't doing anything. ;)
In December, we had fun making and decorating gingerbread houses!
We worked as quietly as we could, but the Bishop peaked outside and we acted like we weren't doing anything. ;)We also made service countdown advent calendars for the month of December. The girls did a great job and seemed to like them!

In November, we helped serve dinner at the Presbyterian Church for the Falls Church Welcome Dinner that they serve a few times a month to those in need. This particular dinner was for Thanksgiving.

Kennedy even brought a few of her non-member friends to help and they had a lot of fun. Lucy and Mary continued to come to the activities for the rest of the year!
I received a beautiful thank you note from Susan that helped us arrange to help:
Another night, we made little chocolate packs to give to someone and watched an episode of "Kindness Diaries."

October was focused on General Conference, so the girls put packets together to use while watching Conference, and then the next activity they answered questions to earn Conference Cash to spend at the General Conference Snack stand. Basically a lot of junk food and fun prizes!

And in September for our first activity, the theme was friendship and the girls had fun playing games, especially musical chairs where a chair was taken away when the music stopped, but no one was out. They all had to keep fitting on the remaining chairs. We started hearing squeals with less and less chairs! Surprisingly they all fit on one chair for about 1 second!
