Thomas and Savannah went with dad to Youth Conference in Tianjin, so Rhea and I got 3.5 days together, alone! A few of the highlights were a day in the art district, giving her "curtain bangs," watching a few episodes of "The Chosen" on Sunday while eating peanut butter "Scotcheroos," and slumber party every night in my room!
The 798 Art District:
We started off with lunch at a New Zealand restaurant. We had yummy salads, fries, and a mango smoothie.Next, we ventured into "3D Live Tank." It looked interesting on the outside, so we went in to check it out. The walls and floors were covered in paintings that you could become a part of to make it look 3D real.
We had a lot of fun interacting with the art together and taking turns taking pics of each other! And on the way out, they had a room playing Zootopia. So we stopped and watched a few minutes.
Another highlight of the art district was a "pet cafe" called YoYo Petea. We had one hour with goats, a llama who spit in Rhea's face, a huger than huge bunny, a sleepy cat, and adorable little dogs you just wanted to take home in your purse!
We bought a little cooked chicken breast and some goat food to help us make friends. ;) We just tore off tiny little pieces of chicken and fed them to the dogs and cat.
The bunny was so big it was laughable! And cuddlable. These little dogs were a favorite. They were so sweet, not pushy like the goats.
This furry guy was a riot. The dogs had diapers on, so it was funny when this dog (and others) would lift their legs to urinate, and we couldn't see anything come out. It was all contained in the diaper. However, somehow they were able to poop and we witnessed that a few times too!
We think the chihuahuas were twins. Adorable!
For half of our time there, we had about 6-7 dogs hanging out with us. I guess it helps that we had little chicken pieces for them. ;)

Our time with the pets came to an end, and Rhea wasn't sad about that because in the last 20 minutes or so there, she started getting ichy, sneezy, etc. Her allergies were taking the front row to the fun. So we hit the streets and explored the sights.
We found a few jewelry tables and bought each of us girls, including Savannah, a necklace. Rhea got music notes, I got a fish, and Savannah got an owl.
We called a didi and ordered Taco Bell take out when we got home. How does the day get any better than that?! We curled up on the couch after and watched a cartoon on Netflix "Over the Moon," which unexpectedly ended up with its setting in China and the story was all about the Chinese legend of the Moon Goddess Cheng'e who left her lover on earth after she drank an immortality potion. Cute show that took place at the time of the Chinese Moon Festival. We're going to try and remember to watch it next year on the holiday with the rest of the family!

We walked into this random museum, and one part of it was this room small plastic balls and markers to draw on them. So we spent a few minutes sitting down and drawing. After finishing our ball, we put it in the plexy glass wall behind us with the others.

And now, the curtain bangs. I watched a few videos about how to cut them, and then went for it. Rhea was very trusting! I had no idea what I was doing, but luckily it turned out cute!

Sunday we did Zoom church and then we made peanut butter scotcheroos and ate a piece while rewatching a few of our favorite episodes of The Chosen.
Then we got invited to have dinner at the Baileys. We took over the rest of the Scotcheroos to share and enjoyed visiting with the Sudweeks and Bro. Lewis.
