An eclectic evening

Life abroad.  We went to dinner at a Brazilian rodizio grill for our friend Claudia's birthday.  We had an eclectic, global table.  Claudia is from Peru, her husband Darren and brother Gary are from South Africa, Gary's girlfriend Roxanne is from China, one of Claudia's friends is from Egypt, the friend's boyfriend is from Mauritania, and then three of us from church including Richard D. are from the United States.  The friends from Egypt and Mauritania are on their fifth day of fasting for Ramadan.  Claudia's friend told me that she loves and respects Mormons.  We're good people she said.  I made sure she knew that we thought the same of Muslims and that we have a lot in common.  😊
It was a fun night getting to of course eat Brazilian Rodizio, but also to get to know Claudia's friends and Gary's brother and girlfriend Roxanne.  Roxanne's English was very good and she shared how she did her bachelor's degree in Maryland.  She knew all about the Eden Center near where we lived in Falls Church and we have our teaching in common.  A sweet girl.  Great people and company for the evening!
