Savannah--now 50% of YW

Sister Bloomfield, a senior missionary, got put in as the Young Women's President when Savannah turned 12 in June.  It has been pretty much one on one lessons on Sunday, sometimes with a visit from Sister Linda, the district YW president who is also in our branch.  It has been wonderful to have these faithful leaders serve Savannah--lessons on Sundays, and activities on Wednesday nights once a month.  Sister Bloomfield and her husband have also been in charge of the Super Saturdays for all of the youth once a month.

Well on this night called "New Beginnings,"  Savannah, Sister Bloomfield, and Sister Linda and a helper named Evita, welcomed Kambell into the YW program.  Savannah is now only 50% of the program and she is so excited to have Kambell there!

The leaders threw such a cute night with donuts as part of the theme for the evening to introduce the Young Women's theme and Personal Progress to Kambell.
We've learned from the First Presidency that programs such as Personal Progress will be coming to an end in January 2020, so Savannah is doing what she can to now to see if she can get her medallion.  She is motivated, but the program is meant to take years to do, so I'm not sure a year is long enough.  We'll see.

For now, the Young Women's theme, as posted on LDS.org, is:
The Young Women theme with an embellished flower border.
95% of this theme has been the same since I was in YW from 1987-1993.  In 2008, they added Virtue as one of the values and "strengthen home and family."  It will be interesting to see if the theme changes along with these programs!

This month, November, Sister Bloomfield and Savannah heart attacked the branch president's door.  Kambell wasn't at church that day unfortunately, but Savannah still had fun surprising Pres. Fridbergs!  We are so grateful for Sister Bloomfield and her sacrifice to come on a mission and agree to serve as the YW president for Savannah.  She is such a blessing to her!
