Here's our cute primary! We celebrated a successfully executed primary program in Sacrament by eating cake in the kitchen. Renate, our president, and Eva a counselor, worked with Cherylyn (American) to plan the program and prepare the kids. They did a great job, especially with all of the traveling and different directions we were all running in during October's fall break. We also gained another American/Canadian family in September, so now there are four English speaking families and kids from about 4 Latvian families. Cherylyn taught the kids songs in English and Latvian so they could perform both in Sacrament and the kids did beautifully. Savannah and Kambell joined in the program as well since they had just recently graduated from primary and could add their helpful memories and voices to the mix to help the younger kids with the singing. For some reason, Rhea didn't make it into the picture. :(
Ned and Gus (brothers) along with Nik T., and Scarlet N. are my entertainment every Sunday. They keep me on my toes and laughing as we talk about Jesus and trying to be like Him.
We'll all never forget some of the funny things that Ned said. For example, while talking about keeping the word of wisdom, he said enthusiastically, "I can't smoke cigarettes, but I can smoke secrets." His prayer also one day included praying that those people that have to cross the bridge to go home (like us) won't fall in. Gus, his brother, only talks about the t-rex dinosaur. Every answer he gives and every question he has, has to do with tyrannosaurus rexes. Scarlet is our spitfire that won't be told what to do or how to do anything, and Nik is a sweet, quiet one that wants to sit right next to me every Sunday to help with the lesson (although she's starting to want to wander the room and climb on tables now). I love these kids!
